What's Your Skin Craving?

From day to day and season to season, our skin’s needs are changing; so can our skincare!

Much like our appetites, our skin craves an ever-changing variety of nutrients. We aren’t suggesting that you go out and buy a different product for every day of the week; we have another strategy up our sleeves…
An easy and cost effective way of catering to your ever-changing skincare needs, is to build up a small ‘Raw Skincare Pantry’ and follow quick and easy DIY recipes to create fresh, custom skincare products as you need them. 
 

Your Raw Skincare Pantry

Aloe Vera Gel - humectant and anti-inflammatory 
Besan (Chickpea Flour) - exfoliating, moisturizing and toning
Chamomile Roman Essential Oil - calming, hydrating and anti-inflammatory
Cypress Essential Oil - astringent, toning and detoxifying
Detox Essential Oil Blend - balancing and detoxifying essential oils
Evening Primrose Oil - healing and calming
Frankincense Essential Oil - healing and regenerative
Geranium Rose Essential Oil - detoxifying and balancing for all skin types 
Green Clay - purifying, toning and astringent
Ground Almond - moisturizing, exfoliating and smoothing
Helichrysum Essential Oil - anti-aging, anti-oxidate and cell regenerator 
Honey - cleansing, humectant and anti-inflammatory
Jojoba Oil - emollient, moisturizing and nourishing

Cleanse and Exfoliate
There are gentle facial cleansers out there that avoid the use of harsh surfactants, which are the most common culprits in drying out the skin. There are also a lot of natural, raw ingredients that make amazing facial cleansers!

Balancing Face Wash
From Your Pantry: Honey, Lavender Highland Essential OilRosemary Highland Essential OilGeranium Rose Essential Oil60 ml Jar.

This face wash will help you to maintain the fine balance between moisture and clarification. This is a great daily cleanser for all skin types. 
- Add 8 drops of Lavender Highland, 4 drops of Rosemary Highland and 1 drop of Geranium Rose into 60 ml of Honey. Stir thoroughly. 
- Massage over your damp face and allow it to sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
- Store in your jar tightly sealed. 

Soothing Oat Cleanser
From Your Pantry: Oat FlourLavender Highland Essential OilIndian Sandalwood Essential Oil, Honey, 60 ml Jar.

This cleanser will help to calm redness and irritations, while providing a gentle exfoliation. It will leave the skin soft, supple and hydrated. 
- In your Mortar and Pestle, place 2 tablespoons of Oat Flour, 3 drops of Lavender Highland and 3 drops of Indian Sandalwood. Mix thoroughly. 
- Add about 1 tablespoon of Honey (enough to make a smooth paste). 
- Apply it to damp skin. Massage in gentle, circular motions and allow it to sit for a few minutes before rinsing with warm water. 
- Store in your jar for up to five days.

Detoxifying Matcha Cleanser
From Your Pantry: Matcha PowderGreen ClayDetox Blend, Honey, 60 ml Jar.

If you’re combatting puffy eyes, enlarged pores and breakouts, you should give this detoxifying cleanser a try. The combination of Matcha Powder, Green Clay and Detox Blend will clear toxins from the skin, helping it to stay radiant and blemish free. 
- In your Mortar and Pestle, add 1 tablespoon of Matcha Powder, 1 tablespoon of Green Clay and 5 drops of Detox Blend. Mix thoroughly. 
- Add about 1 tablespoon of Honey (enough to make a smooth paste). 
- Apply it to damp skin. Massage in gentle, circular motions and allow it to sit for a few minutes before rinsing with warm water. 
- Store in your jar for up to 5 days. 

Exfoliating Face Wash
From Your Pantry: BesanAlmond FlourFrankincense Essential Oil,  Lavender Highland Essential OilLemon Essential Oil, Honey, 60 ml Jar.

If your skin is dry and devitalized, you want to gently exfoliate the dead layer of skin while adding moisture and nourishment. Besan is a gentle exfoliant, Almond Flour has a bit more texture and leaves the skin soft and moisturized. 
- In your Mortar and Pestle, place 2 tablespoons of Besan and 1/2 teaspoon of Almond Flour, 4 drops of Lavender Highland, 2 drops of Frankincense and 2 drops of Lemon. Mix thoroughly. 
- Add about 1 tablespoon of Honey (enough to make a smooth paste).
- Apply it to damp skin. Massage in gentle, circular motions, rinse off with warm water. 
- Store in your jar for up to five days.

Tone
Using an Organic Hydrosol as your toner allows you to nourish the skin and balance its PH, without stripping it of its natural moisture. Hydrosols (Floral Waters) contain the water soluble properties of the plant, providing a gentle, healing treatment that’s easily absorbed by the skin.

Hydrating Toner
From Your Pantry: Rose Bulgarian HydrosolIndian Sandalwood Essential OilNeroli Essential Oil.

If your skin is dry or mature, it will thank you for this beautiful toner! This combination is designed to help nourish and repair the skin.
- Place 5 drops of Sandalwood and 5 drops of Neroli directly into your 100 ml bottle of Rose Bulgarian Hydrosol. 
- Shake well and spritz on your face after cleansing, before applying your moisturizer. You can also spritz your skin throughout the day to lightly hydrate on the go. 

Soothing Toner
From Your Pantry: Rose Bulgarian Hydrosol, Chamomile Roman Essential OilLavender Highland Essential Oil.

This combination of Rose Bulgarian, Chamomile and Lavender will help to soothe redness, inflammation and irritations. 
- Place 5 drops of Lavender Highland and 5 drops of Chamomile Roman directly into your 100 ml bottle of Rose Bulgarian Hydrosol. 
- Shake well and spritz on your face after cleansing, before applying your moisturizer.

Clarifying Toner
From Your Pantry: Orange Blossom HydrosolRosemary Highland Essential Oil, Lavender Highland Essential OilCypress Essential Oil. 

If your skin is currently on the oily, congested side of things, you want to keep your pores clear without robbing them of all their natural moisture. This toner will cleanse and disinfect the skin, while maintaining a healthy level of hydration. 
- Place 4 drops of Rosemary Highland, 2 drops of Cypress and 5 drops of Lavender Highland directly into your 100 ml bottle of Orange Blossom Hydrosol. 
- Shake well and spritz on your face after cleansing, before applying your moisturizer. 

Moisturize
Pure plant oils combined with essential oils make beautiful, nourishing skin serums. To help the skin absorb an oil based serum quickly, apply it while the face is still damp from your toner. You can also combine your serum with natural, unscented lotion, to create a customized, nourishing day creme. 

Deeply Hydrating Facial Serum
From Your Pantry: Jojoba Oil, Rose Hip Seed OilIndian Sandalwood Essential OilFrankincense Essential OilNeroli Essential Oil50 ml Lotion Bottle.

This serum is packed full of nourishing and regenerative benefits. Your skin will be left ultra smooth, hydrated and glowing. 
- Fill your bottle with 25 ml Rose Hip Seed Oil and 25 ml Jojoba Oil. 
- Add 3 drops of Indian Sandalwood, 3 drops Frankincense and 3 drops Neroli.
- Shake well, apply to face and neck after cleansing and toning.

Calming Facial Serum
From Your Pantry: Evening Primrose OilLavender Highland Essential OilChamomile Roman Essential OilHelichrysum Essential Oil.

For those with sensitive skin, simple is often best. This combination of Evening Primrose, Helichrysum, Chamomile and Lavender will be calming and soothing to the skin, while helping to promote cell regeneration and healing.
- Add 3 drops of Lavender Highland, 3 drops of Helichrysum and 3 drops of Chamomile Roman directly into your 30 ml bottle of Evening Primrose.
- Shake well, apply to face and neck after cleansing and toning.

Clarifying Facial Serum
From Your Pantry: Aloe Vera Gel, Lavender Highland Essential OilCypress Essential OilRosemary Highland Essential OilGeranium Rose Essential Oil, 50 ml Lotion Bottle

This serum uses Aloe Vera Gel as the base, to cater to skin that is prone to breakouts and intolerant of oil. Aloe Vera Gel provides hydration that can be easily absorbed by the skin.
- Fill a 50 ml glass lotion bottle with pure Aloe Vera Gel.
- Add 5 drops Lavender, 2 drops Cypress, 1 drop Geranium Rose and 4 drops Rosemary.
- Shake well before use, apply liberally to face and neck after cleansing and toning. 

There you have it; an entirely customizable skincare line that can be whipped up in about 5 minutes using whole, organic, pure plant ingredients. Who said your skin can’t go on a raw diet too?
