Botanical Winter Drinks to Warm Your Soul

Just when you thought playing around with plants couldn’t be any more fun, our botanical winter drinks came along…


These are the perfect, healthy warm drinks. So, grab a cozy sweater, a good book and light up that fireplace because you’re going to want to sip on one (or all) of these ASAP.

 
Vegan Vanilla & Cardamom Latte
A mugful of Oat, Almond or Cashew Milk
1 drop of Cardamom Essential Oil
A Vanilla Bean or Vanilla Extract
1 tsp Honey (or more if you like it sweet!)

  1. Warm up your milk over the stove top. If you’re using a Vanilla Bean, simmer it slowly with your milk.
  2. In the bottom of your empty mug, combine your honey & essential oil drops. If you’re using Vanilla Extract, add it now as well. Mix well.
  3. Pour over the warm milk, whisking as you go & enjoy!


Spicy Rose Hot Chocolate
This glorious recipe is compliments of our dear friend and customer Jerome, who makes this hot chocolate for our local markets. It is truly special and we are so grateful he wanted to share it with all of you!

1 cup boiling water 
42 gr Cacao Paste 
1 tbsp Tahini 
1 tbsp Coconut Milk
3/4 tbsp - 1 tbsp Honey/Maple Syrup
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
Big pinch Nutmeg (fresh is best)
Pinch of fresh Cardamom
3 drops Jojoba Rose Essential Oil
1 tsp Vanilla Extract (optional)
Pinch of cayenne 
Pinch of Sea salt 

  1. Put all of your ingredients besides the boiling water into the blender
  2. Once blended, pour in your boiling water
  3. Pour into a heated mug & enjoy!

 
Note: Drinking pure cacao is akin to eating dark chocolate. However
it can be strong for some and we suggest drinking no more than
1 portion a day (for starters). Be sure to drink water before and after.
Also, for those with heart conditions: the theobromine in cacao increases 
heart rate and is a vasodilator, lowering blood pressure; again, be sure
not to overdo it with the portions - because you will be tempted!


Minty Matcha Latte
A mugful of your milk of choice
2 tsp Matcha Powder
1 drop of each Peppermint Extra & Spearmint Extra
1 tsp Honey (or more if you like it sweet!)
1 tsp Coconut Oil

  1. Over the stove top, warm your milk, slowly whisking in your matcha powder and coconut oil.
  2. At the bottom of your empty mug, combine your honey & essential oil drops. Mix well.
  3. Pour over the warm matcha, whisking as you go & enjoy!

 

Spice Up Your Latte
6 oz strongly brewed coffee
½ cup milk of your choice
1 drop Nutmeg
1 drop Cardamom
1 drop Cinnamon Bark
1 tsp Honey (or more if you like it sweet!)

  1. Freshly brew your coffee.
  2. Over the stop top, warm your milk, whisking vigorously to create some froth.
  3. In the bottom of your empty mug, combine your honey & essential oil drops. Mix well.
  4. Pour over your warm milk, stirring thoroughly.
  5. Add your coffee & enjoy!
